Volunteer Work Nights

The Model Train Club meets every Monday night from 7:00-9:00 pm to work on the layout and discuss future projects. 

All model railroad construction is funded by public donations and fundraising events.  Donations of trains and train memorabilia, as well as cash donations, are always welcome.  Memberships are avilable.

Who We Are

The Flat Rock Model Train Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of railroad history in our area.  We are completely volunteer-run and managed. 

Henry Ford originally brought the railroad to Flat Rock in the 1920’s when he consolidated and improved the lines.  He built the dam across from the current “Depot” and also the Model T Headlamp Plant in Flat Rock.  These are displayed to scale on the layout in addition to the DT&I Railroad story.
